From the observation deck of the Royal Equestrian Navy’s orbital shipyard, the planet of Equus is nothing more than a rolling patchwork of greens, blues, and whites. Up in the vacuum, there are no boarders or landmarks to denote where one nation starts, and another ends.
As such, though peace between all who call the planet home is still a dream, many of those nations have banded together to seek out a future beyond their home. Zebras, Griffons, Dragons, Ponies, and even Changelings, have come together to share their knowledge and explore the stars, perhaps even offer friendship to those they meet.
To do this, though, ships were needed. Great creatures of steel built to explore the vastness of the void, propelled forward by the arcane magic of unicorns and the science of zebras and earth ponies.
Yet, with all the exploration comes dangers, and with those dangers comes conflict.
Pony kind had learned, long ago, that just because you wished to befriend others, did not mean others wished the same. Thus, to protect the worlds that had been discovered, and even colonized, ships made for war, and not exploration alone, were needed.
One such ship, HMS Sun’s Fury sits in the massive chamber in the center of the shipyard, supplies and crew slowly filling the ship as she prepares to depart on another mission.
A ship of the Celestial-Class, Sun’s Fury is a large Battleship, capable of holding her own against nearly overwhelming odds, and meant to be the personal flagship of Princess Celestia when she leads the fleets into battle. For now, however, its commanded by a Captain of the Royal Navy, who currently stands before the open hatch leading to the interior of the ship, inspecting the latest batch of recruits to be assigned to the flagship.
“Good evening mares, gentle stallions, Changelings, Drakes, and all others,” the grey Pegasus as he paces before them, his Royal Navy uniform immaculate. “My name is Epic Prose, I am the Captain of this ship, so allow me to be the first to welcome you aboard the pride and joy of the Royal Navy.” He pauses and gestures with a wing to the massive ship behind him. “Now, I know you’re all eager to get aboard, but I want to make it clear that life on a naval ship, especially in space, isn’t all action and glory,” He pauses, a smirk on his face, “if it was I’d be an admiral by now.” He turns and continues pacing. “But, there will be times when there are action, but more than likely this will be nothing more than a simple shakedown cruise, so I expect you all to do your jobs and follow orders.” Looking back to the mass of recruits, he fixes them with his dark blue eyes, his eyes scanning over them as if to size them up. “Any questions?”
((There you all go, have some of my vertigo induced rambling as a RP starter))
